Holman Bible Dictionary
(ree' buh) Personal name from a root meaning, “lie down.” Midianite king whom Israel defeated in the time of Moses (Numbers 31:8 ). Joshua 13:21 connects the defeat of the Midianite kings with that of the Amorite king Sihon ( Numbers 21:21-35 ).
