Rizpah
Holman Bible Dictionary
(rihz' puh) Personal name meaning, “glowing coals” or “bread heated over coals or ashes.” Saul's concubine whom Abner took as wife in what amounted to a claim to the throne (2 Samuel 3:7; compare 1 Kings 2:22 ). Rizpah is best known for her faithful vigil over the bodies of her executed sons (2 Samuel 20:10-14 ) until David commanded their burial.
