Shadrach
Holman Bible Dictionary
(sshad' rak) Babylonian name meaning, “circuit of the sun.” One of Daniel's three friends taken to Babylon during the Exile (Daniel 1:6-7 ). His Hebrew name was Hananiah. The three were cast into a fiery furnace for refusing to worship a graven image set up by King Nebuchadnezzar. The Lord miraculously delivered them, and they were given places of honor in the kingdom (Daniel 3:30 ). See Daniel .
