Shaveh

Holman Bible Dictionary

(sshay' veh) Place name meaning, “valley, plain” or “ruler.” Place where the king of Sodom met Abraham on the latter's return from defeating the coalition of kings (Genesis 14:17 ). It is also called the king's valley or dale. There Absalom raised a monument to himself (2 Samuel 18:18 ). The Genesis Apocryphon locates it in Beth-Hakkerem, which is two and a half miles south of Jerusalem where the Kidron and Hinnom valleys join. It has also been located north, east, and west of Jerusalem.
