Holman Bible Dictionary
(sshih mih' uh thite) Either a descendant of a person named Shimeath or, more likely, a native of the town of Shema (Joshua 15:26 ), perhaps settled by the clan of Shema (1 Chronicles 2:43 ). See Shema 1. and 5.
