Sinew
Holman Bible Dictionary
The tendons which connect the bones of the body (Job 10:11 ). In Isaiah 48:4 , the word is used symbolically of Israel's refusal to return to God. Genesis 32:32 contains the vague reference to Jacob's “sinew” God touched, making Jacob lame, and to the food law that grew out of the incident.
