Sirah
Holman Bible Dictionary
(ssih' ruh) Place name meaning, “thorn.” A well (“cistern of Sirah” NRSV) where Joab and Abishai murdered Abner for killing their brother Asahel (2 Samuel 3:26-30 ). This well is probably the well named Ain Sarah, a little over a mile northwest of Hebron. See Wells.
