(zay' bad) Place name meaning, “He has given” or “gift.” 1. Member of the tribe of Judah (1 Chronicles 2:36-37 ). 2 . An Ephramite (1 Chronicles 7:21 ). 3 . One of David's “thirty” elite warriors (1 Chronicles 11:41 ); the first of twenty-one names which the Chronicler appended to a list paralleling that of 2 Samuel 23:24-39 . 4 . Assassin of King Joash (2 Chronicles 24:26 ), called Jozacar in 2 Kings 12:21 . 5 . Three postexilic laymen ordered to divorce their foreign wives (Ezra 10:27 ,Ezra 10:27,10:33 ,Ezra 10:33,10:43 ).
