Zair

Holman Bible Dictionary

(zay' ihr) Place name that means, “small.” Place where Joram, king of Judah (853-841 B.C.), fought with Edom (2 Kings 8:20-21 ). The location of Zair is still in dispute. Some place it south of the Dead Sea near Edom. Others equate it with Zoar (Genesis 13:10 ) or Zior (Joshua 15:54 ). Compare 2 Chronicles 21:9 .
