Holman Bible Dictionary
(zee' ruhd) River name perhaps meaning, “white thorn.” A stream which empties into the southern end of the Dead Sea. Its entire length is only about thirty-eight miles, but it drains a large area of land. Israel crossed the Zered after wandering in the wilderness for thirty-eight years (Deuteronomy 2:13-14 ).
