Fleshly, Fleshy

Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible

FLESHLY, FLESHY . There is a distinction preserved in the AV [Note: Authorized Version.] between these words. ‘Fleshly’ is that which belongs to the flesh, carnal , as Colossians 2:18 ‘fleshly mind,’ as opposed to ‘spiritually minded’ (cf. Romans 8:6 ). ‘Fleshy’ is that which is made of flesh, tender , as 2 Corinthians 3:3 ‘written … not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.’
