Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible

HOSHAIAH (‘Jah has saved’). 1. A man who led half the princes of Judah in the procession at the dedication of the walls of Jerusalem ( Nehemiah 12:32 ). 2. The father of Jezaniah ( Jeremiah 42:1 ), or Azariah ( Jeremiah 43:2 ).
