Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible

JEHUDI (generally = ‘a Jew,’ but appears to be a proper name in Jeremiah 36:14; Jeremiah 36:21; Jeremiah 36:23 ). An officer of Jehoiakim, at whose summons Baruch read to the princes of Judah the roll of Jeremiah’s prophecies, and who was afterwards himself employed to read the roll to the king.
