Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible
MINISH. The mod. form is ‘diminish.’ ‘Minish’ occurs in AV [Note: Authorized Version.] in Exodus 5:19 , Psalms 107:39 , and RV [Note: Revised Version.] introduces it at Isaiah 19:5 , Hosea 8:10; but Amer. RV [Note: Revised Version.] prefers ‘diminish’ everywhere.
