Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible

SINCERE . The Eng. word ‘sincere,’ as it occurs in 1 Peter 2:2 ‘the sincere milk of the word,’ is used in its old sense of ‘unmixed,’ ‘pure’ (RV [Note: Revised Version.] ‘without guile’).
