Several times referred to in the O.T. in connection with its 'ships.' It points originally to Cyprus (see KITTIM); but in Jeremiah 2:10; Ezekiel 27:6 the 'isles of Chittim' are spoken of, so it is evident that in the Prophets other islands are associated with Cyprus.
