1910 New Catholic Dictionary

Town, Seine-et-Oise, France, near Paris. The original monastic foundation was a changed into a nunnery by Charlemagne, and the repentant Heloise, beloved of Abelard, was for a time abbess. The parish church contains the relic a known as the Holy Coat, the seamless garment of Christ, an object of pilgrimages since 1247.
