Term used sometimes to designate the entire group of philosophical doctrines of Saint Augustine, but often used exclusively to designate his explanation reconciling the theories of the Fall, grace, and free will in the solution of the problem of freedom and grace, i.e.,of the part taken by God and man in the affair of salvation.
