Baglivi, Giorgio
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
Born 1669; died 1707. Professor of anatomy at Sapienza College, Rome. Renowned for his anatomical researches. Author of the theory of "solidism" in medicine, which ascribes the seat of diseases to the solid part of an organ rather than the liquid.
