Blessed Cords
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
Girdles worn by members of certain pious associations. Four have been approved and indulgenced by the Church. They are:
- the belts of Saint Monica, Saint Augustine, and Saint Nicholas of Tolentino
- the cord of Saint Francis
- the cord of Saint Joseph
- the cord of Saint Thomas Aquinas
