Carem

(Hebrew: vine or vineyard)
Ancient town of the tribe of Juda, probably the modern 'Ain Karim, 4 miles west of Jerusalem. According to tradition it is the town where the Blessed Virgin visited her cousin Elizabeth (Luke 1) and where John the Baptist was born.
