Martyr (304), died Aquileia, Italy. At an early date he was venerated in Rome, where a titular church in Trastevere bears his name today. A 6th-century legend made him a Roman, the Christian teacher of Saint Anastasia. Arrested in the persecution of Diocletian, he was condemned to death by the emperor and was beheaded and his body thrown into the sea.
