Cloth of Gold
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
Vestments of cloth of gold may be used instead of white, green, or red, especially in poorer churches which are unable to possess vestments of all the prescribed colors. Gold may not replace colors of mourning or penance, i.e.,black, purple, or rose color.
