Corporal Works of Mercy
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
Things done for the body or soul of persons in need.
The Corporal are:
- feed the hungry
- give drink to the thirsty
- clothe the naked
- harbor the homeless
- visit the sick
- visit prisoners, and ransom captives
- bury the dead
The Spiritual:
- instruct the ignorant
- counsel the doubtful
- admonish sinners
- be patient with wrongdoers
- forgive offenses
- comfort the affiicted
- pray for the living and dead
