Denver, Colorado, Archdiocese of
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
Founded as the Vicariate Apostolic of Colorado and Utah in 1868. The name was changed to the Vicariate Apostolic of Colorado in 1870. Elevated to a diocese on August 16, 1887 as a suffragan of Santa Fe. Elevated to an archdiocese on November 15, 1941. Suffragen dioceses include
- Cheyenne, Wyoming
- Colorado Springs, Colorado
- Pueblo, Colorado
