1910 New Catholic Dictionary

Comprises nearly all of Wexford and part of Wicklow counties; founded by Saint Aedan, 598; suffragan of Dublin. His early successors included Saint Mochua, Saint Moling, and Saint Cillene, Bishop O'Lyman (died 1062), Ailbe O'Molloy (1185-1222), and Bishop Saint John, who rebuilt the ancient cathedral, now in ruins. Ruins of early priories and abbeys may be seen in the diocese. See also:
