Friedel, Xaver Ehbenbert

Jesuit missionary and cartographer, born Linz, Austria, 1673; died Peking, China, 1743. With Fathers Regis, Jartoux, and others, he made a cartographical survey of China, traversing the whole empire from south to north, 1708-1718.
