Martyrs, died Milan, Italy, c165 They were the sons of Saint Vitalis and Saint Valeria. The Roman general, Astasius, came to Milan, and ordered the death of all Christians. Gervasius was beaten with leaden whips and Protasius was beheaded. Saint Ambrose, guided by a dream, discovered their burial place and transferred their remains to the basilica, which he built at Milan in 386.
