Hitchcock, Edward
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
Geologist. Born 1793; died 1864. First president of the American Association of Geologists and Naturalists. As state geologist of Massachusetts he was the first to complete a governmental survey of an entire state. He also made important studies of the dinosaur tracks in the Connecticut Valley.
