1910 New Catholic Dictionary

Order of Greek architecture distinguished from Doric by the unifacial plan, use of a base for columns, a shaft with channellings, capital with volutes, and division of architrave into three parallel and horizontal bands. The frieze is ornamented with a continuous band and mouldings are distinguished by delicacy and grace.
