Linus, Pope Saint
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
Reigned from 64 or 67 to 76 or 79. Died in Rome. It is generally considered that he was the successor of Saint Peter and ruled for 12 years. According to Irenaeus he is the Linus mentioned by Saint Paul (2 Timothy 4). His name is mentioned in the prayer "Communicantes" in the Canon of the Mass. Feast, Roman Calendar, September 23,.
