Private Revelations
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
Those manifestations of secrets which are made to a particular person. There are three kinds:
- natural, which result from natural causes
- diabolical, which proceed from the devil
- Divine, by which God sometimes illuminates and instructs a person for his own salvation or that of others
They are distinct. from visions and apparitions, in which persons see, but may not understand; when they understand, they are said to have a revelation.
