Quirinal Palace

1910 New Catholic Dictionary

Residence of the Italian royal family on the Quirinal Hill, Rome. Before 1870 a papal palace where conclaves were held. Also used as summer residence. It was built by Pope Gregory XIII in 1574, and enlarged by later popes.
