Founded as the diocese of Reno on March 27, 1931. Name changed to the diocese of Reno-Las Vegas on October 13, 1976. The territory was split and the name changed back to the diocese of Reno on March 21, 1995. Suffragen of the archdiocese of San Francisco. See also
