1910 New Catholic Dictionary
Chapel in the Vatican, built by Pope Sixtus IV in 1473, and now used for most of the important papal functions. It is noted no less for its famous choir than for the paintings of Raphael, Michelangelo and others, which adorn its walls and ceiling.
