Mount Gilboa

Hawker's Poor Man's Concordance And Dictionary

So called from Gal, to change--and Bahah, on enquiry. This mountain will always be remembered by the readers of the Bible, on account of the death of Saul and Jonathan, and the beautiful elegy of David composed on that occasion. It lay southward of Jerusalem. (See 2 Samuel 1:1-27 throughout.)
