(Strong's #3802 — Verb — pagideuo — pag-id-yoo'-o )

"to entrap, lay snares for" (from pagis, "anything which fixes or grips," hence, "a snare"), is used in Matthew 22:15 , of the efforts of the Pharisees to "entrap" the Lord in His speech, AV, "entangle." See ENTANGLE.
