Webster's Dictionary

(a.) Confined to a fresh-water lake by reason of waterfalls or dams; - said of fishes that would naturally seek the sea, after spawning; as, the landlocked salmon.

(2):

(a.) Inclosed, or nearly inclosed, by land.
