Holman Bible Dictionary
(ay' thach) Place name meaning, “attack.” Town in southern Judah to which David sent spoils of victory while he fled Saul among the Philistines (1 Samuel 30:30 ). May be the same as Ether (Joshua 15:42 ), a small copying change causing the difference. See Ether .
