Holman Bible Dictionary
(bee' tah) Place name meaning, “security.” City from which King David took brass after defeating King Hadadezer (2 Samuel 8:8 ). See Berothai. 1Chronicles 2 Samuel 18:8 lists Betah as Tibhath. See Tibhath . Thus NIV reads Tebah in 2 Samuel 8:8 .
