Beth-Eked
Holman Bible Dictionary
(behth-ee' kihd) Place name meaning, “house of shearing” (KJV, “shearing house”). Place where Jehu, after slaughtering all members of King Ahab's house in Jezreel, met representatives from King Ahaziah of Judah and killed them (2 Kings 10:12-14 ). It is traditionally located at beit Qad, four miles northeast of Jenin, but recent studies question this location. Whatever its location, it must have been a meeting place and perhaps a marketplace for shepherds.
