Holman Bible Dictionary
Part of the decoration of the pillars of the Temple (1 Kings 7:17 ). The Hebrew word also denotes a lattice (2 Kings 1:2 ) or net (Job 18:8 ). With reference to the pillars of the Temple, it thus denotes a criss-crossed design.
