Geharashim

Holman Bible Dictionary

(gee hah ray' sshihm) Place name meaning “valley of the handcrafts workers.” A member of the genealogy of Judah and Caleb in 1 Chronicles 4:14 , a list which often includes place names. It is listed as a place where members of the tribe of Benjamin lived in the time of Nehemiah (Nehemiah 11:35 ). This might indicate that descendants of Judah and Caleb had once occupied territory in Benjamin. It is apparently near Lod in Benjamin's allotment about 30 miles northwest of Jerusalem. See Charashim .
