Gittaim
Holman Bible Dictionary
(giht' tay ihm) Place name meaning, “two winepresses.” City to which people of Beeroth fled after Israel entered Canaan. The Bible does not tell the precise time (2 Samuel 4:3 ). After the Exile, part of the tribe of Benjamin settled there (Nehemiah 11:33 ). This could be the same as the Gath of 1 Chronicles 7:21; 1 Chronicles 8:13 , but that is not certain. The location is not certain, probably near Lydda and thus in Philistine territory at Rash Abu Hamid.
