Holman Bible Dictionary
(hee' zuhr) Personal name meaning, “wildpig.” Ugaritic texts apparently show that the name came from the profession of herding swine. 1. Leader of one of the 24 courses of priests (1 Chronicles 24:15 ). 2 . A Levite who signed Nehemiah's covenant to obey God's law (Nehemiah 10:20 ).
