Ithiel
Holman Bible Dictionary
(ihth' ih ehl) Personal name meaning, “with me is God.” 1. Member of tribe of Benjamin in the time of Nehemiah after the return from Exile (Nehemiah 11:7 ). 2 . Person to whom Proverbs 30:1 is addressed, following standard Hebrew text (KJV, NAS, NIV). Many Bible students put spaces between different letters of the Hebrew text assuming an early copying change. Then the text would read, “God is not with me, God is not with me, and I am helpless” (TEV), or “I am weary, O God, I am weary, O God. How can I prevail?” (NRSV; compare REB).
