Jedidiah
Holman Bible Dictionary
(jeh dih di' uh) Personal name or nickname meaning, “Yah's darling.” A similar name meaning, “El's darling” appears in the Ugaritic materials. A name God told David to give to his son Solomon (2 Samuel 12:25 ). Despite David's sin with Bathsheba and the death of the child of their sinful relationship, God showed His love to their child Solomon, thus underlining God's forgiving nature and His continued commitment to David and his royal house.
