Holman Bible Dictionary
(kay' wahn) Babylonian god (Amos 5:26 ). KJV transliterates the name as Chiun. As is often the case when foreign gods were referred to, the original vowels of the name were probably replaced with the vowels of the Hebrew word for “abomination.” See Chiun; Gods, Pagan; Sakkuth .
