Rezeph
Holman Bible Dictionary
(ree' zehf) Place name meaning, “glowing coal.” Town the Assyrians conquered, most likely under Shalmaneser III (about 838 B.C.), and which the Assyrians used as a warning to king Hezekiah of Judah in 701 B.C. against relying on God to deliver him from them (2 Kings 19:12; Isaiah 37:12 ). The site is possibly Rezzafeh about 100 miles southeast of Aleppo.
