Holman Bible Dictionary
(sshal' luhn) Personal name perhaps meaning, “peaceful, carefree.” Man who helped Nehemiah by repairing the Fountain Gate (Nehemiah 3:15 ). NRSV, NAS, TEV follow some early version evidence and read, “Shallum.”
